Summary - Percy Jackson lives in New York in an apartment with his mom and goes to a school for kids with learning differences, but this is not the only thing that makes him different. He is also the son of the sea God Poseidon. One day at school he is attacked by a group of monsters pretending to be students that are shadowing. Immediately he and his good friend jump in a cab outside and go to a demi god summer camp called “Camp Half-blood”. Once he gets there he finds that the magical tree that protects the camp from monsters is slowly dying. They find that the only thing that can save their camp now is the Golden Fleece. The Golden Fleece is a magical item that revives nature and is located on an island protected by a Cyclops. Percy and two of his friends from camp sneak out and ride a number of boats and ships to the island and steal the fleece from the Cyclops. When they come back the lay the fleece on the tree and it is saved.
